Within the room the role leaves, each person controls how they hear from HeatAlert.
- Which channels — email, SMS, or both.
- The lowest level worth interrupting them for, at or above the role's minimum.
- Quiet hours, for notifications that aren't urgent.
- Whether they'd rather have a scheduled digest than a stream of alerts.
A preference is only as good as the contact details behind it. Someone set to SMS with no phone number is subscribed to nothing — Readiness catches this, and it's the most common reason a person believes they're covered and isn't.
You change these yourself on My details — your email, your mobile, which channels, and the lowest level worth interrupting you for. Anything your role has fixed is shown as fixed, with the reason, rather than as a control that does nothing.
An administrator can also edit them for you from the roster. Either way the change is recorded, so "why didn't they get the text?" is answerable weeks later.
