Terms of Service

1. Service Description

HeatAlert provides IoT-based workplace heat index monitoring through wall-mounted sensor devices and a cloud dashboard at monitor.heatalert.com. The service includes real-time monitoring, alerting, historical data, weather forecasting, and optional compliance reporting depending on your subscription plan.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate contact information. One person or legal entity may maintain no more than one free account.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans (Pro, Enterprise) are billed monthly via Stripe. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the Settings page. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not: reverse-engineer the HeatAlert hardware or firmware, use the API to build a competing product, submit fraudulent sensor data, or attempt to bypass plan limits. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

5. Disclaimer

HeatAlert is a monitoring tool. It does not replace professional judgment, OSHA compliance programs, or occupational health assessments. Heat index readings and forecasts are provided as-is and may be subject to sensor accuracy limitations, network delays, and weather forecast uncertainty. You are responsible for your own workplace safety decisions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HeatAlert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to workplace injuries, regulatory fines, or business interruption.

7. Data Ownership

You own your sensor data. We claim no intellectual property rights over the readings your devices produce. You may export your data at any time (subject to plan limits on CSV export). If you delete your account, we delete all associated data within 30 days.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address on your account. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
