Every unit sold now is cellular. It arrives provisioned, enrols itself the first time it powers on with signal, and appears on your dashboard with no code, no setup network and nothing to type. Everything below applies only to the older Wi-Fi units still in service.

- Plug the unit in and wait for its setup screen.
- On a phone, join the Wi-Fi network the unit is broadcasting.
- The setup page opens by itself. Enter the store's normal Wi-Fi details and the pairing code.
- The unit joins the network, claims its identity with the code, and appears on the dashboard within a minute or two.
A pairing code is valid for 15 minutes and works once. That's short on purpose — a code sitting in an email for a month is a way for the wrong device to join your account. If it expires, generate another from the unit's page; there's no limit and no penalty.
Codes deliberately exclude characters that are easy to misread — no letter O, no digit 1 — because they get read aloud over a phone from a hot kitchen. Case doesn't matter.
If a legacy Wi-Fi unit you already own has dropped off, don't add it as new — that starts a second history for the same hardware. Open its existing page and generate a re-pair code instead.
