Maintenance mute

Silence one unit's alerts for a set period while work is done nearby. It keeps recording, and the mute expires by itself.

Sometimes a unit is going to read hot for a legitimate reason — an oven being deep-cleaned two feet away, a delivery door propped open in August. Mute stops that one unit alerting for a period you choose.

  • It keeps recording throughout. The readings are real and they stay in the record.
  • It expires automatically. Mute is capped at 7 days.
  • The mute, who set it and when are recorded.
  • Readiness lists currently muted units, so an old one gets noticed.
A mute is the one setting in this product that deliberately makes a real hazard silent. The cap and the reminders exist because the dangerous version of this feature is the one somebody set in June and nobody remembered in August.
