Returning a unit to unassigned

Puts a unit back in the needs-a-store queue as if it had just arrived. Use it for bench-tested units — it drops the unit out of compliance reporting.

Under Advanced on a unit's page. It exists for the unit you assigned to a store while testing it on a desk, and now want to ship as new stock.

  • Clears the store and returns the unit to the needs-a-store queue.
  • Clears any alert state left over from testing, so the next store doesn't inherit a live alert and an acknowledgment from your workbench.
  • Keeps every reading. History is never deleted.
It drops the unit out of compliance reporting: everything recorded until now stops counting toward any store's record. That's right for a unit that was on a bench — those readings describe a workshop, not a workplace — but it is a real effect, which is why it asks you to confirm.
